Yellow Rose - Sailing Scholarship

In Memory of Molly Kurvink

As a way of honouring Molly’s love of sailing and her many years of teaching and mentoring young sailors, The Yellow Rose Scholarship consists of a tuition grant for one week of a Learn To Sail Session at the Guelph Community Boating Club.  One scholarship will be awarded in each calendar year.

The scholarship will be awarded to a female (identifies as female) student sailor under the age of 18 (on or before December 31 of the year of application) who applies directly to the Guelph Community Boating Club Sailing School before June 1st of each year.

The application shall consist of the applicant stating five reasons why the applicant wants to take sailing lessons and one reason why she deserves the scholarship.

The successful applicant shall be chosen between June 1st and July 1st by a Scholarship Committee consisting of:

- The current Learn To Sail Director

- The Current hired Sailing Instructors

- The Current Commodore

If no applications are submitted before June 1st, an awardee will be chosen by the Scholarship Committee from the current year’s students, at the end of all sessions for the year, and the Scholarship shall be awarded retroactively.
