WELCOME to the 2019 SEASON at GCBC!!!!!!!!  Are you ready to sail!!!!!!

IF WE ENCOUNTER INCLEMENT WEATHER WE WILL RESCHEDULE FOR APRIL 27, 2019

ALL HANDS ON DECK!  WE NEED AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO HELP OPEN THE CLUB.  GCBC IS VOLUNTEER DRIVEN!  PLEASE COME AND DO YOUR PART.

Saturday April 13, 2019 at 09:00 hours will be the official opening of the club site. The grounds will be cleaned up of the winter debris, the Co-op boats will be taken from the club house and masts will be raised.

Come out and take part, have fun and meet your fellow members. Hot drinks will be provided. Dress warmly in layers and bring what tools you can. Garden tools, leaf rakes, wrenches, hammers, waders and anything else you think will come in handy to make everything ship shape. Typically it is done by 12:00 hours and the effort you put in to it is REALLY APPRECIATED.

Please be warned! Proceed slowly down the driveway. The gate may be open, this is OK until noon. There will be work parties on the driveway. You may have a face to face with a front end loader driven by DAVE, he does not suffer fools gladly and he will have right of way.

    See you at the lake!

On December 19, 2018, the world sadly lost a bright light in Molly Kurvink. We are holding a night of celebration and remembrance to honour her amazing life and legacy. You are invited to join us for this important event.

The event will consist of sharing stories, music, and memories. There will be a set program, as well as time for others to speak/perform should they desire. If you wish to speak or play a song, please contact Sue Smith or Jeff Bird at jbsm@golden.net.

Please RSVP on the EventBrite page should you wish to attend. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/celebrating-molly-tickets-56849043018

    Some things to note:

    • Food will be potluck style. Please bring something to share.
    • Please bring lawn chairs/picnic blankets to enjoy the food and music.
    • Please note that parking at the club is limited, so we encourage carpooling where possible.
    • There is no garbage pickup at the club, so this will be a litter less event. Please bring your own plate, cup and cutlery.
    • The annual Palm D’Or Snipe Regatta will be taking place at the Boat Club prior to the event. Spectators welcome.

If you have any specific questions, or would like to volunteer to help out, please contact Adeline Palm at adelinebpalm@gmail.com.
