ADULT Sailing Program - 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM

It’s here. Years in the making. An Adult Learn to Sail coarse is finally here.

This coarse is for ages 18 and up. It will run for 6 hours per day on two consecutive weekends. July 25th-26th from 10:00am - 4:30pm and August 1st-2nd from 10:00am - 4:30pm.

This is an in depth practical and theoretical base program starting with the most simple basic sailing concepts and developing them through the advanced stages of sailing. You will develop at your own pace with the help of your coaches over the four days of the program. You get constant feedback and suggestions as well as a debrief at days end.


It is developed for the weekend Warriors of sailing and those who want the extra information about sailing, to up your game, you will be exposed to the following :

-boat handling, Parts, names of parts

-Rigging a double handed
-the main rules of the water ways,
- sailing downwind

-Sail trim & sail set rigging

-Sail trim & sail set rigging

-rigging a single handed

- the theory of sail,

-sailing upwind,


-and so much more.

The coarse will be run by our team of professional coaches running the L2S program this year. They are some of the very best coaches in Ontario. International racers and award wining coaches. Please note that registration is only available through our website.


• Program runs at GCBC waterfront

• Start at 10:00 am
• Ends at 4:30 pm
• 30 min lunch break
• Sail your own boat if you have one. Use co op if you do not.

You must bring with you each weekend:

• Ample drinking water
• Lunch
• Your own PFD (Personal Floatation Device)
• all the other details are in the L2S HANDBOOK which is sent upon registration.

Cost: Adult Learn to Sail is $240/ person for 24hrs of coaching.

You will be provided with the Learn to Sail hand book , Rowans Law, and Covid -19 procedures that MUST be followed to the letter (Our Club’s responsibility is to look after the membership and the coaches and where we can, protect everyone from Covid. This will mean you can and will be asked to do things in a very different way but it is all designed for your safety. Failure to comply may mean expulsion which is fully backed by the directorship of your club. We want this to be a positive experience for you so please help us make it that way.
